What is Performance Skiing?

Think of it in terms of auto racing.  Formula One race car drivers push the absolute limits of their equipment and skill sets.

And what’s gleaned from Formula One racing trickles down to “performance street cars” such as Ferrari, Porsche, Corvette, BMW, etc.

Similarly, what’s learned on the World Cup is put to good use by specific ski manufacturers as well as skiers, who may not race, but use the same performance technique and require a ski that performs at a higher level.  Hence, performance skiing.   Below are a few videos of exceptional performance skiers.
